REP NEWSLETTER FEBRUARY 2019
There was a real buzz in the air during the two nights of our January production of “Almost Maine” at the Ukrainian Centre! Thanks to everyone for coming to see the play and for supporting both our new and our experienced members.
Thanks also to the cast and crew for all their hard work and enthusiasm – it certainly paid off.
“Almost Maine” was a perfect choice of play to give new performers the experience of acting in front of an audience. Some of the scenes were uplifting, and some of them were quite sad, but they were all performed with skill and sincerity. Thanks to Justine for directing this production – it was a very enjoyable and rewarding experience for everyone.
Our Next Production
Greyhounds by Laura Crow, April 12th and 13th at the Ukrainian Centre
First performed in 2017, it was sold out at the Manchester Fringe and was a great success at the Edinburgh Festival last year. Chris is looking forward to directing this exciting play.
The year is 1941 and rehearsals for Henry V are underway. Whilst war rages in the skies above England, the residents of Shuttlefield struggle to stage Shakespeare’s famous play to raise money for the local Spitfire fund. From within the “wooden O” of the local village hall, the cast rehearse, gossip and indulge in some seriously bad acting as the performance draws near!
July Production
“God of Carnage” by Yasmina Reza.
Ryan is planning to direct this Tony Award Winning play for the summer production. More details in the next newsletter
New Rep Drama Workshop Classes directed by Justine
