Introduction from The Rep’s Chairman….
Welcome to our website. We are a small company of drama enthusiasts who love being involved in theatre. The company has been going in Doncaster for over 80 years and was originally known as the Cheswold Players, then The College Repertory Players, and now Doncaster Amateur Players, a.k.a. “The Rep”.
The ethos of our company has always been the same, to provide the opportunity to be part of a drama experience whether it be as an actor, backstage worker, director or as part of an audience.
We have performed in a wide variety of venues over the years, including the Civic Theatre, the Little Theatre, the new theatre Cast, the Ukrainian Centre and also taken productions to many local schools.
I am proud to be Chairman, and am looking forward to continuing our traditions into the next 80 years!
Chris Green
We are a friendly group of people whose ages range from teens to over eighty. But we have one thing in common – our love of theatre!

Our charity name is Doncaster Amateur Players, but we are better known as The Rep. (This sprang from our link with Doncaster College when we were known as the College Repertory Players. For those interested in our history please click on History).
The Rep produces a range of plays about 3 times a year mainly at the Ukrainian Centre on Beckett Road. We produce full length plays as well as short one acts and excerpts, and often including a supper. We have also performed at Cusworth Hall (Victorian Melodramas), St George’s Minster (Under Milkwood ), The Little Theatre (including Death of a Salesman), and more recently Cast ( with George’s Marvellous Medicine).
